Your details and your garden enquiry.

This notice explains how Canberra Garden Guide handles personal information when you browse the site, ask for garden help or contact us.

Last updated 18 September 2026

What we collect

You can read our guides without completing a form. When you ask for garden help, we collect your name, mobile number, email address, suburb, the work you need and your preferred timing. We also record which guide led you to the form, and the time and wording of your agreement to share your enquiry.

If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any information you choose to include. Please do not send payment details, identity documents, health information or property access codes. A suburb and general description are enough for an initial garden enquiry.

How we use and share your information

We use garden enquiries to connect you with a local garden-care provider, assess the work and arrange a response about scope, price and availability. You review your details and agree to sharing before sending the form. Our initial referral arrangement is with a family-connected business.

The provider receives the enquiry details so they can contact you about that job. Sending an enquiry does not make a booking or add you to a marketing list. We do not circulate your enquiry to multiple businesses. If another provider is needed, we will ask for your agreement before passing your details on.

We use other messages to answer your question, correct content or deal with a privacy request. If our referral arrangements change, we will update this notice and the relevant form before using information in a new way.

Delivery and website services

Garden enquiries are processed through Formspree and delivered by email. Formspree and the receiving email service process and store information as part of delivery. Formspree describes processing in the United States and other countries where it operates in its privacy policy. Information may therefore be processed outside Australia.

Website and delivery services may process technical information such as your IP address, browser type, request time and security logs to provide their services and prevent abuse. This site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives connection information when your browser requests them. We have not installed advertising trackers, analytics tools or newsletter software.

Links to other websites take you to services with their own privacy practices.

Storage and retention

Form entries stay in the page while you review them. This website does not save them in browser storage. Your browser may separately retain autofill or history information according to your settings.

After sending, copies may be held by the form-delivery service and in email accounts. Clearing the form does not delete those copies. Enquiry records are used for responding to the job and any related follow-up or dispute. You can ask us about the records held about you and request deletion; we will explain if any records need to be retained.

Please avoid sending more personal information than is needed. No internet transmission or email service can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your choices, questions and complaints

Contact Canberra Garden Guide at hello@canberragardenguide.com.au to ask about your information, request access or correction, request deletion, withdraw agreement to further referrals, or raise a privacy complaint. You do not need to submit a garden job to contact us.

Include the email address used for your enquiry and enough detail for us to find it. We may need to confirm that you are the person concerned before releasing or changing information. We will respond to your request and explain any information we cannot provide or remove.

Withdrawing agreement does not undo an enquiry already delivered. We can help identify which provider received it so you can also address information held by that business. If a privacy concern remains unresolved, you can seek guidance from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

We will update this page when our information-handling practices change. Read how referrals work.
